This year VERA teamed up with Just Ordinary Men (www.justordinarymen.org.uk) to recreate the Oosterbeek perimeter during Operation Market Garden, September 1944. Our adversaries for the week were FJR6 (www.fjr6.co.uk) who were dug in on the other side of the wood and insisted on attacking us just as our tea was brewing! On Saturday we were also joined by members of the Oxf & Bucks LI (AB). The week was an excellent mix of living history (we lived and ate in the woods all week), public battle displays, and of course the hundreds of militaria stalls and displays which made up the rest of the show - superb!
